From reference photo's to a painting is today's posting.

I have been out of the state last week an unable to post on the blog, but now I am back.


Here are two photo's (one of my painting and one as a reference photo).This will show you what I am able to create from a photo of your pet or pet's.

The beauty of being an artist is to take a photo or subject and improve it into a wonderful painting.

This painting of these two English Bulldogs titled " Nice to meet you", was entered in the 51st Annual Michigan Thumb Show in 2011 and I am happy to say it won the People's Choice Award. I do enter from time to time in competition with other accomplished artist's.

I can take one or more of your animal's and put them together in a painting as well as work with composition, atmosphere, mood, lighting, etc.

Ok, my title for this new painting is called "Mating Season". Here's why. I was fortunate enough to get some photo's taken while I was visiting Hilton Head Island. I have learned that the color you see around the eye and the plumage feathers are there only during mating season. After that they loose those feathers and the color. That's what makes this painting special.


I have Limited Edition Giclee prints available of this painting. When I have Limited Edition prints made, I choose high quality printing on watercolor paper or canvas made to last over 200 years. The total numbers of prints made are kept to a low amount. "Mating Season" is limited to 125 prints. The price for an 11 x 14" on watercolor paper is $58.00 and if you want it on stretched canvas with a solid border on the outside edges, price is $125.00. The cost for shipping is extra.

Let's Wrestle For It

The title of this new painting is   " Let's Wrestle for it".  I like to paint animals in character. Sometimes horses like other animals want to be the leader.
