Oscar

Oscar

This is a custom order. I decided to do two different paintings. For fun, I am asking you all to give your input and choose your favorite. The top painting is painted in acrylic to look like water color and the bottom painting is in acrylic with more detail as a close up of his face.
you can post your comment or email me your choice.

2021 Garden walk

Troy Garden Walk

As a guest artist, I enjoyed doing this plein-air painting of the beautiful peaceful garden with white flowers. Each year in August the Troy Garden Club puts on a Garden Tour that people love to go on. I will send out a text to let all know ahead of time next year.
This painting is in water color and is now a  private collection.
Thank you

Mojo

Mojo

This is a commissioned piece I painted in memory of this beautiful horse.
I work from photos even if the photos are not perfect, I can still work with them.
This painting is on gessoed hardboard, museum quality. 11x14" in size in Acrylic. The beautiful thing about acrylic is you can put in a frame under glass or without glass. I apply a protective coating that bring out the colors.

Dove of Peace

Dove of Peace
I meant to have this done by Easter, but after two attempts in Acrylic, I decided to try it in water color. It has been a while since I have been painting with water color, but I am satisfied with the end results.
Hopefully you will feel some comfort from this painting, that is the intention of creating it.
Thank you

Warmth of the West

I titled this " Warmth of the West" right now because this time of the year we could use a little more warmth in Michigan. I always work from photos I have taken for reference purposes and make additions or adjustments. So take a close look and see what I have added. This is an Acrylic on gessoed panel. Thank you

Misty Morning

When we were staying in the Port St Joe of Florida area, this old sail boat that was slightly tipped and stayed in this position every time I seen it. It must have been abandoned and remained there until the hurricane came through, This particular morning the mist was still all around but the sun was starting to shine which made a beautiful painting for atmosphere and mood.

Painted on an 11x14" museum quality gessobord  panel in acrylics.

Looking in the Mirror

I know I have posted this one before but it recently went to the home of Winston and he just got to get a look at it, or was he thinking...."Am I looking in the Mirror"?

The Starkweather Society had a 20th Anniversary in 2019 and many artists were asked to display two pieces of their artwork of which I was happy to be included. They had two people choice awards given out and voted on by the public. My painting of Winston was one of the two winners. So happy.

I love getting the publics opinion and always happy to receive your comments whether you add it on my blog or email me.

House Wren Singing
I usually have a little story about my paintings and there is a very special story about this House Wren that I will be sharing in the future. For now I hope it brings you joy and a good feeling with the beautiful colors of the roses and the wren has a reason for singing.

Dairy Cow

Sugar Hill Peerless Aaron 4k was affectionately know around the farm as 'Sugar'.
She was the first Milking Shorthorn purchased by the Delong family. Sugar became the matriarch of the Milking Shorthorn breeding program on the Delong farm and to this day has a daughter and several 2nd and 3rd generation daughters on the farm. Sugar had a gentle disposition and was shown by the two young daughters of the Delong family in numerous competitions where she brought home purple banners and blue ribbons.
Sugar lived 14 long years on their farm and will always be remembered as one of the 'great ones'.

This commissioned piece is an 11x14" Acrylic painting on canvas. Thank you

Freedom

This is one of my recent finished paintings that is hanging in a wonderful financial office for a private collector. THANK YOU. This photo does not give  the painting total justice.
I have to say it took me longer than most paintings because of the thought process I put into it before even touching the canvas with my brushes. The outcome and the meaning to the person receiving it is most important to me. I will let you put your thoughts into it and please feel free to share them.

This painting is in Acrylic on a 24"x 36" gallery wrapped canvas.
