STABLE TOUR 2026

It was a beautiful day to be able to paint in Metamora at the stable tour. This view of the horses grazing in the field is always a relaxing sight. I find it is very calming to just enjoy watching animals in their own environment. Horses are very alert to any changes around them. They are looking for something moving across the field. I like to make my paintings tell a story.

TROY GARDEN WALK 2026

This was a lovely garden that I enjoyed creating a plein air painting. I felt right at home with all of the interesting objects, (old and new). I grew up with my mother and sister collecting old items that can be useful in other ways, so it was a nice feeling of reminiscence. There were many choices to set up and paint. Becky and Mike used lots of antique pieces creatively throughout the gardens. As I sat painting, I enjoyed listening to all the positive comments from the public walking through.

This piece is on an 11x14" canvas in Acrylic and purchased by the owners of the garden.

Bella

 Bella, the Bernese Mountain Dog

This is a painting of our dog Bella, sadly we had to say goodbye. After 14 and half years of age, which is older than normal for that breed. She lived a wonderful life and traveled the country. She loved sitting on this bench when we stayed at Cape Sand Blas and walking the beach with her sunglasses on. Everyone loved her. She loved everyone. Maybe she lived a long life because of her attitude and the fact that my husband made her meals that she ate three times a day, including her vitamins, plus treats. Dogs truly are a best friend who love you unconditionally.

This painting is a recent commission. Thank you so much. It is 16x20" on a museum quality gesso board and is in the owner's antique frame.  I brought the gold back to new by cleaning and applying several coats. The owner found me painting at a Plein air event and saw a couple of my small paintings. She said she had been looking for the right artist for six years and finally found me. 

I meet wonderful people and get to know about their special family members. 

Frequently, when I paint a family pet the person has or lost, they have emotions and tears when they see the finished painting. Tears can be healing, as they are a natural mood booster and help with emotions and pain. It helps your brain reset and heal. It brings joy to my heart that I may be a part of helping someone in that process.

2025 Stable Tour

This was a very warm day but beautiful in Metamora.  After I found a spot in the shade, this view caught my eye. The light on the end of the isle drew me through the barn to the beautiful horse on the other side, welcoming me to walk through. This is an 11x14" stretched canvas in Acrylic.

Garden Walk 2024

Garden painting

I had completed a painting in a past Troy Garden Walk in the back yard of their beautiful garden. It was a little difficult to decide between all the lovely colorful choices I had. I was so pleased to hear from the owners this year when they asked me to paint their front yard. They now have one of their front and back gardens, which is also wonderful to enjoy during the winter months.

Stable Tour

 

Metamora Stable Tour

This was my first year plein air painting at the Stable Tour in Metamora. You can purchase tickets to tour wonderful stables. The event is in August each year. you may want to put it on your calendar for next year. Even though I had plenty of choices to paint at this stunning location with beautiful buildings and landscape; as I drove in, the first thing that caught my eye was the entryway to the property where the horses enjoy their pasture.

This piece now belongs to the owners of the property. Thank you so much.

The top photo is before I did repair of this antique piece and the bottom photo is after completion. Not something I normally do but was a client's request. I think it turned out beautiful and preserved this beautiful old piece to enjoy for many more years.

 Troy Garden Walk 2022

This painting is in Acrylic on canvas. I enjoy plein air painting in gardens and doing floral work. It is an absolutely beautiful garden with a koi fishpond and a variety of floral and greenery at the Flocke residents. There were so many choices of views to take in, I could have made several paintings.

I am happy to say, this piece is hanging in their home. They can enjoy the beauty of their garden in the wintertime now, as well. Thanks so much for your purchase.
