Dove of Peace

Image
Dove of Peace I meant to have this done by Easter, but after two attempts in Acrylic, I decided to try it in water color. It has been a while since I have been painting with water color, but I am satisfied with the end results.  Hopefully you will feel some comfort from this painting, that is the intention of creating it. Thank you

Warmth of the West

Image
I titled this " Warmth of the West" right now because this time of the year we could use a little more warmth in Michigan. I always work from photos I have taken for reference purposes and make additions or adjustments. So take a close look and see what I have added. This is an Acrylic on gessoed panel. Thank you you can contact me at lhartworks@aol.com

Misty Morning

Image
When we were staying in the Port St Joe of Florida area, this old sail boat that was slightly tipped and stayed in this position every time I seen it. It must have been abandoned and remained there until the hurricane came through, This particular morning the mist was still all around but the sun was starting to shine which made a beautiful painting for atmosphere and mood. Painted on an 11x14" museum quality gessobord  panel in acrylics.

Looking in the Mirror

Image
I know I have posted this one before but it recently went to the home of Winston and he just got to get a look at it, or was he thinking...." Am I looking in the Mirror" ? The Starkweather Society had a 20th Anniversary in 2019 and many artists were asked to display two pieces of their artwork of which I was happy to be included. They had two people choice awards given out and voted on by the public. My painting of Winston was one of the two winners. So happy. I love getting the publics opinion and always happy to receive your comments whether you add it on my blog or email me.
